OCULOMOTOR - Cranial Nerve

III. Oculomotor



Function: Muscles that move the eye and lid, papillary constriction, lens accomodation
Location: Midbrain
Test by shining light directly into the pupil, constriction of the pupil is observed, normal both will constrict together simultaneously. Also, test by holding finger about 24 inches from the client’s nose and move the fingers towards the nose, eyes will converse while pupils constrict.
