Function: Sternocleidomastoid and trapezius muscles
Location: Medulla
Test by having the client shrugs shoulders while examiner holds hand on shoulder and presses down, client should shugs shoulder symmetrically. Test by having client turn head side to side against resistance of examiner’s hand. Normally, there should be contraction of opposite sternomastoid muscle.
